Thermodynamics in LEO

One of the biggest hurdles for AI in space is heat. Without air, convection is impossible. Orbital data centers must rely entirely on radiation to dissipate heat from high-compute agent workloads.

Management Strategies

  1. Workload Throttling: Agents must monitor CPU temperature and throttle reasoning runs during peak solar exposure.
  2. Liquid Cooling Loops: Use closed-loop systems to transport heat from the core to external radiators.
  3. Night-Cycle Processing: Schedule heavy batch tasks (like reindexing memory) during the orbital night when radiation cooling is most effective.
