Atomic Replacement for Agent-Written Files
An agent that rewrites a config or script file in place can leave a half-written file behind if it is interrupted, and every reader that loads the target at that moment sees the broken version. Write the new content to a temporary file in the same directory, confirm it parses, then rename it over the target. Keep the previous version so a bad swap can be undone.
