Compare and Set So Writes Do Not Get Lost

Two runs read the same record, both change one field, and both write the whole record back. The second write erases the first change and nothing reports an error, so the lost update is only found later when a value is missing. This skill covers the guard: carry a version or revision with the record, write only when the version still matches what was read, re-read and retry on a mismatch, and never read, modify and write in one unguarded step when more than one writer can reach the row.

$ openclaw auto-fix add --name "Retry After Reread" --condition "write_rejected_version_mismatch = true" --action "Re-read the record, reapply only the field this run owns, and write again with the fresh version instead of resending the stale whole record" --approval "auto" --notify "#ops-info" --max-runs "50 per day" --cooldown "1m"
$ openclaw runbook add --name "Resolve a Lost Update" --trigger "/runbook lostupdate" --tags "development, data" --steps "Find the record. Read its history. Identify which field each writer owned. Reapply the change that was overwritten. Add a version guard to the writer that had none."

Compare and Set So Writes Do Not Get Lost

# Two writers, one row: carry the version The lost update is quiet. Two runs read the same record, each changes a different field, each writes the whole record back. The second write replaces the first run's change with the value it happened to read, no error is raised, and the field is simply miss
