Record the Intent Before the Effect
A write-ahead intent log records what a run is about to do, and why, before it does it. If the process stops midway, the record is the only thing that tells recovery whether the action half happened or never started, which decides whether to finish, undo or escalate. This skill covers the pattern for agent systems: append the intent and flush it before the effect, give every intent a unique id and an outcome slot, mark the outcome after the effect, scan unfinished intents on start, make replay idempotent, and never act on an intent already marked done.
